What Size Art Fits Your Wall?
Although art is a lot about personal preference. There are a few things to bear in mind when choosing the size of your wall art. You need to consider where your piece will be positioned. If it will be behind a sofa or another piece of furniture, then it should be no more than 2 thirds of the length of your sofa. If it is above a fireplace, then is should be between the width of the fireplace opening and the length of the mantle.
If it will be hung on a bare wall, then the size of the wall is all you need to take into consideration. There are opposing ideas here. Some suggest that with modern art you should get the largest size that will fit the wall. But for a more traditional look, follow the three eighths rule. This means you should have 3/8ths of the width of the wall on each side of the glass wall art. This sounds complicated! But simply multiply the size of the wall by 0.57 to get the size of the wall art you need.
